Tamar Halmann
Program Coach
My name is Tamar Halmann and I have always had a passion for working with youth, helping individuals discover their own resilience and sense of community and belonging. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During my undergraduate years, I focused on learning about human behavior and mental health and wellness from a neurobiological and psychological lens. Since graduating, I have primarily worked at a variety of community based mental health programs. I currently work at Raphael House of Portland, helping survivors of domestic violence at an emergency shelter. Through this job, I was able to help facilitate a week-long river rafting trip, where I saw first hand how empowering outdoor programs can be for adolescents facing adversity and trauma. On a more personal level, I have always appreciated the healing powers of nature and the outdoors, and I look forward to sharing my appreciation for adventure and the natural world.
